BP has awarded three people in Jones County, Texas a total of $7 thousand for damages from the Deep Horizon oil spill that occurred on April 20.
Although BP has not disclosed the names of the people that received money in the claims, the exact amount has been released, $7,702. A company spokesman has said that the claims were probably to people that had interest in the fishing and real estate industry in the Gulf.
Most claims have been to people that live close the Gulf but there has been three claims paid out in Oldham County, Texas, which is located near the Panhandle.
