A terms of a large Gulf oil spill lawsuit will be filed in a New Orleans U.S. district court will be filed by April 16, according to a district judge. The judge also stated that a conference with lawyers will be set up for May 3 in order to go over the remaining aspect in the case.
The conference is meant to discuss the last few issues before the actual trial can begin. This trial is against BP and the other parties that have been said to be responsible for the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon drill, which caused the Macondo well to rupture and spill oil into the Gulf.
The lawsuit was brought upon from local, state and federal governments after nearly 4.9 million barrels of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico.
