Claimants urged to file new claim if they were denied

Kenneth Feinberg has urged claimants that were denied compensation to apply again with a new application.

According to a speech by Feinberg, the Gulf Coast Claims Facility has made mistakes in the past five months when paying victims for damages that were caused by the Gulf oil spill.

There were nearly 471,000 claims filed and it was more than the group had anticipated, which caused inconsistencies when judging the claims. Fienberg now says that he will do a better job explaining the reasoning for denying a claim.
