Gulf oil spill to teach lessons about the future

Posted on October 7th, 2010 No Comments

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico that sent thousands of gallons of oil into the ocean will hopefully teach a lesson on what needs to be worked on in America in order to prevent incidents like this from occurring again.

One lesson that should be learned is that regulation and enforcement is necessary in our economy and that the government should set certain rules in order for the the safety of others to be protected.

Obviously, the government can not create a “risk-free society” but they should police the market economy in order to make sure that one party does not cause harm to others.

Another lesson that can be learned is that America needs to change the oil habits by using more wind, solar, nuclear and hydroelectric power in order to find a cheaper alternative.
